As for this game itself, I think it's rather mediocre to be honest.
SUPER MARIO LAND 2 WARIO'S CASTLE SERIES
After the success of this, they later spawned a new series of Wario games (and even made one for N64 if memory serves correctly) without using Mario in the title - and they sold because everyone was familiar with the name by then. Like all Nintendo Mario games it ties in to the franchise but that doesn't mean it deserves to be named "Super Mario Land 3" when it's not about Mario. For this reason alone, it would have been more suitable to just name it "Wario Land" but obviously they didn't think a game would sell unless it was, in some way, related to "Mario." I don't really consider this a Mario game for that reason. "Wario Land" is very much a Super Mario game in its general style, although it features a new character and Mario only makes an appearance towards the very end. The ending you get depends on how many treasures you obtained. When the success of Nintendo and its "Mario" franchise hit a peak in the early nineties, they inevitably cashed in as best they could - releasing unending merchandise, shameless rip-offs, spin-offs and cash-ins. And the final battle happens at Syrup Castle but the first course at Syrup Castle is the ending of Parsley Woods/Parsely Woods then the final 3 courses take place within Syrup Castle. And a spooky ghost who freezes you if you touch it and you have to throw 3 of the "Pirate-ghosts" it sends to you to the ghost 3 times to win the fight.

By throwing 3 watches at the Angry Baby Bird. A GIANT HEAD that licks rocks where you have to throw 3 "Rock-like boogers" at it to kill it a demonic baby bird that can be killed 3 ways. A big bully who must be tossed into the lava in order to be killed a penguin wearing boxing gloves. A Koopa with a spiked shell that must be killed by the underside. Teapot Sherbet Land Stove Canyon SS Tea Cup Parsley Woods/Parsely Woods & Syrup Castle 6 bosses who will try to stop the burly hero. "That Mario may have taken away my castle at the end of the last game but i'll make sure he pays when Mario sees that i have a castle that's even bigger than his." 7 areas in the game. "Wario Land Super Mario Land 3" starts at the end of "Super Mario Land 2 The 6 Golden Coins" where after Mario dealt the final hit to Wario. Wario Land also features battery backup to save your progress and collected treasures. Explore all 40 of the island's side-scrolling courses while visiting such mouth-watering locales as Sherbet Land, Parsley Woods, Rice Beach, and Syrup Castle. The jet cap increases his speed, the dragon cap lets him shoot fire from his nose, and the bull cap makes him stronger and able to latch onto ceilings.
Wario's other moves include climbing, swimming, jumping, charging, and performing special techniques after finding magic caps throughout the pirate-infested realm of Kitchen Island. Wario can then pick up the incapacitated enemies and throw them. Not only is he much slower, but running into enemies is not a problem for the burly protagonist: colliding with creatures merely knocks them on their backs. Wario controls a bit differently than Mario. Wario's goal in Super Mario Land 3 is to collect as much treasure as he can to build as large a castle as he can. Picking up where Super Mario Land 2 left off, the selfish Wario does what he does best: getting his grubby mitts on all things shiny and sparkly. Mario's dastardly doppelganger has his first starring role in this surprise entry in the Super Mario Land series on Game Boy.
